Morning Meditation

In the first moments of day before our mind is fully awake can be a wonderful time for meditation.

In these first moments of day, when the sun's golden light is just peeking over the horizon, our animal mind remains in the land of slumber though we ourselves are awake. Deep sleep has washed away the impurities of existence that accumulated within us, so our mental, physical, and emotional potential is heightened. To meditate in this peaceful yet energetically charged in-between time is to connect with the divine in an extremely intimate fashion.

We discover a new kinship with the universal life force during morning meditations because our awareness becomes a mirror for earthly consciousness—we wake as the world wakes, quietly embracing the joy of being and setting the tone for a serene, fulfilling day.

In the first glow of morning, the light, air, and energy flowing around us speak in hushed tones of the activity to come. While we recognize that another day of being means becoming once again immersed in the challenges of action and reaction, we also understand that we can draw upon the unique energetic qualities of daybreak for comfort, creativity, and vigor. There is bliss in the simple knowledge that we have been given the gift of another day of existence. We are inspired by sights and sounds of the sun's gentle ascension. Birds serenade the luminosity, which grows richer by the minute. And though we may feel a residual lethargy, our vitality returns as our meditation helps us to become one with the stirring of other beings rubbing the sleep from their eyes. At the start of each day, our destiny has not yet been written, and so there is nothing we cannot do.

How we choose to meditate is less important than our choice to attune ourselves to the spirit of wakefulness that travels round the world each and every day. Even the briefest moment of quiet contemplation in the muted light of the sun can put all that is yet to come into perspective. As a consequence of our daybreak reflections, our lives are imbued with the same stability, tranquility, and increased awareness that humanity has long associated with the stillness of early morning.

Disregarding the Pursuit of Happiness to Your Peril

You lead a busy life. You probably have a job, a family,
hobbies, relatives, community activities, and many more that
I can't even imagine. You pursue lots of stuff.

You can easily get caught up in all these pursuits and think
you are aiming at being happy. I mean you do all these
things, keep all your commitments, make more appointments,
because you think this is what it means to be happy. "I must
be on the road to happiness, I have all this to do."

But you are not happy. You may even be miserable - the
farthest thing from happy. What's wrong?

You have gotten caught up in the pursuit of your pursuits.
You have left no room for happiness. Please don't mistake
me. I find nothing wrong with pursuing legitimate and
positive goals, keeping relationships vibrant and
participating in a healthy community. But these can keep you
from your ultimate goal - happiness.

Of course there are only so many hours in a day and only so
many days in a week, etc. What you do with them is entirely
up to you.

But if you really want to be deeply and constantly happy,
you must slow down a little, at least, and find time for
happiness. The choice is yours as it always is. You are
leading a good life now. Do you want it to be even better by
having a great and consistent sense of well-being?

Then you need to do something different. Yes, that's
obvious, but are you going to do something different or did
you just want to point out to me that it is obvious? You
actually have to pursue happiness.

So, that may mean you will have to give something else up.
In order to have the sense of well-being that you want,
sometimes called happiness, you actually have to do
something that leads to that well-being. For example, you
will need to set aside time to meditate. Meditation entails,
in one form or another, time out from other pursuits to
quiet your mind and spirit. To empty your mind. To think
about nothing. To make contact with the All There Is.

You can see, I'm sure, that this entails letting go of
something lesser in order to gain something greater. What is
lesser is for you to determine, not me for you. But you see
this is a deliberate choice you need to make.

Suppose I am going on a trip and I can have only one
suitcase. Everything I need for that trip must, must, fit in
that one bag. I am going to a place where I cannot buy
anything I might have left behind when leaving for the
journey.

I must pack very carefully. The bag will only hold so much.

Limits and fears are just an illusion.

This video has to be one of the most greatest motivational videos I have ever seen.  The key point is if you want to become any thing in life, you can't be blaming other people for your problems, be inspired.

(transcript of the video posted below).

Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows.

It's a very mean and nasty place,

and I don't care how tough you are, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there if you let it.

You, me or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life.

But it ain't about how hard you hit.

It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward.

How much you can take and keep moving forward.

That's how winning is done!

Pain is temporary.

It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or even a year,

but eventually it will subside

and something else will take its place.

If I quit, however, it lasts forever.

The margin for error is so small...

one-half a step too late or early, and you don't quite make it.

One half-second too slow, too fast, you don't quite catch it.

The inches we need are everywhere around us.

They're in every break of the game, every minute, every second.

You got a dream, you gotta protect it.

People can't do something themselves they wanna tell you you can't do it.

If you want something, go get it. Period.

Don't be afraid to fail.

You can’t always win, but don’t afraid of making decisions.

You have to believe that something different can happen.

He who says he can

And he who says he can’t are both usually right

Most of you said that you want to be successful, but you don’t want it bad.

You just kinda want it.

You don’t want it bad than you want to party.

You don’t want it as much as you want to be cool.

Most of you don’t want success as much as you want to sleep!

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.

Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us.

You have to dig deep down, dig deep down and ask yourselves,

Who do you want to be?

Figuring out for yourselves what makes you happy,

no matter how crazy it may sound to other people.

Make a choice.

Just decide,

what it’s gonna be, who you’re gonna be, how you are going to do it.

Just decide.

Why not?

Why can't I be MVP of the league?

Why can't I be the best player in the league?

I don’t see why. Why, why can't I do that?

What is it you said to the kid?

It ain't about how hard you hit.

It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward.

Get up.

Get up.

Get up and don't ever give up.

And we can stay here, get the shit kicked out of us...

or

we can fight our way back into the light.

We can climb out of hell...

...one inch at a time.

To be able at any moment

Sacrifice what you are for what you will become.

Most of you won't be successful because when you're studying, and you get tired, you quit.

‘I’m not good in math.’ That’s right, because you never study!

‘I’m no good in rhyme.’ Because you never write before!

Talent you have naturally.

Skill is only developed by hours and hours and hours of beating on your craft.

If you are not making someone else’s life better,

you’re wasting your time.

Don't cry to quit, cry to keep going.

Don’t cry to quits.

You already in pain, you already hurt. Get a reward from it.

If you know what you're worth, go and get what you're worth!

But you gotta be willing to take the hits,

and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you wanna be because of him or her or anybody!

Cowards do that, and that ain't you!

You're better than that!

Every day is a new day.

Every moment is a new moment.

Now you've got to go out and show them that you're a new creature.

Now!

I'ma show you how great I am!

In the seventeenth chapter of St. Luke, it’s written “the kingdom of God is within man”,

not one man nor a group of men, but in all men! In you!

You, the people, have the power,

the power to create machines,

the power to create happiness

You, the people, have the power to make this life free and beautiful,

to make this life a wonderful adventure.

Now!

What are you gonna do?

Because limits like fears are often just an illusion.

How your mind can achieve greatness

Your mind is a vast, largely unexplained resource of energy and power.

A lucky few can tap into the rest of their brain's extra, unconscious potential and use it to attract more more money, love, health and happiness into their lives

For example, did you know?

  • The hit song "Yesterday" by the Beatles, was first born when Paul McCartney composed the entire melody in his sleep. Upon waking, he hurried to a piano and played the tune to avoid forgetting it.
  • That Frederick Banting first isolated insulin (a main treatment for diabetes) with the help of a dream.
  • Oscar winner David Seidler was able to "think" cancer away, and has fully recovered since.

Isn't that amazing?! Just imagine what you could do if you truly harnessed the power of your mind!

Video - Consciousness, Creativity & The Brain ( A McKenna Perspective )

This is a curious and often comical video, it's popular on you tube, food for thought...
